Join us for an enchanting escape to Sicily, where our home base will be a lovingly restored 18th-century farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of central Sicily. This serene retreat center is the perfect backdrop for a journey of self-discovery and rejuvenation.



Danena is a stunning yoga retreat center located on Sicily’s famous southeast coast. The centerpiece is La Masseria, a beautifully restored farmhouse, nestled in a natural landscape with the breathtaking Mediterranean Sea as its backdrop. Close by, you'll find the ancient Greek city of Siracusa, the charming hilltop town of Noto, and the serene Vendicari nature reserves. Sicily’s rich history is a blend of Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Norman, Greek, and Spanish influence. From its stunning beaches and passionate people to its incredible cuisine and the awe-inspiring, active Mount Etna, there’s so much to discover on this incredible island.

This week is a blend of yoga retreat and travel adventure. Each day will feature one to two yoga sessions. We’ll enjoy two delicious, healthy meals daily—brunch and dinner—primarily vegetarian, with occasional seafood options. There will be plenty of opportunities for laughter, casual hangouts, group sharing, self-reflection, and quiet time, along with inculded excursions to nearby towns and beaches. Your registration includes all excursions, all yoga instruction, accommodation, and meals.

Which airport should I fly into?

You can book commercial flights into Catania (CTA). The Masseria is approximately an hour drive from the airport. Arrival is any time after 10am on Sunday the 16th.. Departure by 10am on Saturday the 22nd....contact us before you purchase your flights so you can know the best plan for arrival/departure.

Sara Chaplin

Owner and Founder Sara Chaplin's journey into yoga began soon after college, and it immediately resonated with her. The practice fulfilled a deep longing, providing a supportive haven to release tension, alleviate stress, and reconnect with her authentic self. Since 2004, Sara has immersed herself in an ongoing exploration of both the physical and philosophical dimensions of yoga. On the mat, Sara brings a delightful mix of lightheartedness and playfulness, creating a welcoming space for practitioners to relax and embrace the present moment. As an eager learner, she approaches each class with curiosity, always seeking new insights and personal growth.

Lucie Geraci

Lucie's journey with yoga began over 10 years ago after having to be very convinced (read: "begged") to do yoga. At the time, yoga felt intimidating and exclusive. After her first class, she quickly discovered that yoga is not only for her but for every body. With thoughtful and creative sequencing, she strives to inspire confidence- no judgement or apologies.  As a 500 Hour Yoga Teacher, Lucie has also received certifications in Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Paddleboard Yoga, Sound Healing, and Personal Training. She has designed and led numerous Teacher Trainings, Workshops, and Mentoring Programs. When not teaching, you can find her climbing or hiking with her pup.

What yoga styles are taught on retreat?

We offer two yoga classes a day on our yoga retreats: a morning Vinyasa power flow class which is quite active and invigorating, and a restorative Yin yoga class in the evening with a longer relaxation.

What is the daily itinerary?

We’re very flexible when it comes to schedules and itineraries. We have two yoga classes scheduled a day, in the morning and early evening, but of course all are optional. The rest of the day and evening is completely up to you, we’ll be there to offer up ideas for the group!

Can I share a room with someone else?

We’d be happy to arrange this, although most people joining us on their own seem to like their own room. We normally put people in a shared room if they’re traveling together and request it specifically – friends, siblings, couples etc. However, if we do get requests from two people traveling on their own who would like to share, we can put you two in a shared room. Please contact us if this is your preference.

How do I book?

Is it OK to come on the retreat alone?

Absolutely! Many of our guests come solo. It’s a great way to get the full retreat experience, time to yourself and have the opportunity to make new friends along the way. You will not be alone in arranging your trip as we will assist you in all of your pre-travel planning.
